While many say that the Transformers franchise has nothing to offer moviegoers, Michael Bay has managed to make almost $3.8 billion with four movies. So it doesn't matter to the studio if every single movie is critically panned - as long as there are people paying to see the films, the Transformers franchise will endure.
The next installment, titled Transformers: The Last Knight, is set to arrive on the 23rd of June 2017, a month filled with blockbusters (Wonder Woman, The Mummy, Kingsman 2). Besides some of the returning cast (Mark Wahlberg and Josh Duhamel, for example), the Michael Bay movie has also attracted some other big names, most notably Anthony Hopkins (who has already praised Bay's method of filmmaking).
It will indeed be a big event, able to compete with the biggest movies of the year. And, if you are interested in seeing giant robots fighting other giant robots yet again, this movie will definitely be for you. So when will you be able to see a first clip from Transformers: The Last Knight?
According to director Michael Bay, fans of the franchise will be able to see Optimus Prime yet again before 2016 is over:
I want to tell you, because I've been reading your comments, the teaser is coming. December 16th on Star Wars. So look forward to it (via Screen Rant).
So, yes - the first Transformers teaser is yet another reason to see Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
As far as we’re concerned, and if you haven't realized this until now, the Transformers movies have gotten worse with each sequel that’s been released. Will The Last Knight be better? We doubt it - but we’ll see it, nonetheless!
Transformers: The Last Knight will be released on the 23rd of June 2017.
