Justice League Dark Script Finished

Justice League Dark

After Comic Con, a new DC project was announced, with Guillermo del Toro attached to direct and come up with a script: Justice League Dark. Of course, at that moment, newbies might have thought that this would be another version of the Justice League - and they would have been right.

However, as the DC schedule revealed, Justice League Dark is not (yet) included in the DC and Warner Bros shared universe.

Any news?

Actually, just a couple of days ago, Guillermo del Toro announced that the script is finished and now the studio executives just have to review it. In other words, it all depends on the quality (and the bankability) of the script whether the film sees the light of day or not.

Until now, the news was very scarce concerning this project. Furthermore, after Constantine began airing and after the movie was not included in the DC schedule, things didn't look too good for it. It just seemed that this is yet another Guillermo del Toro project meant to die prematurely.

Is Guillermo del Toro apt for such a film?

Guillermo del Toro is no stranger to comic book adaptations. Before having his eyes on Justice League Dark, the director also helmed probably the best Blade film (Blade II in 2002), as well as two Hellboy movies (Hellboy in 2004 and Hellboy II: The Golden Army in 2008).

While the fans are still waiting for the third Hellboy to happen, it feels good to hear that this highly imaginative director wants to tackle Justice League Dark - which is, indeed, a different kind of superhero team, but a superhero team more inclined to the supernatural (the team is consisted by John Constantine, Madame Xanadu, Deadman, Shade, the Changing Man and Zatanna).

When will Justice League Dark be released?

As said, there isn't a scheduled release date, simply because the project wasn't green light - maybe after the Warner Bros execs review the script we will find out (but with Guillermo del Toro's busy schedule, this date cannot be before 2018).
