Oscar Isaac To Play X-Men's Villain Apocalypse!

For the last couple of months, there had been a lot of rumors conveying a variety of names for the role of the titular villain of X-Men: Apocalypse. Finally, we have the name which appeared in the contract papers of the 20th Century Fox movie! And, the name is Oscar Isaac!

Who Did Oscar Beat On His Way

Oscar was one of the three shortlisted actors for the role of the first human born with the mutant-X gene named Apocalypse in Bryan Singer's latest venture. One of the other two names that were considered for the role was Thor and Luther star Idris Elba who was strongly rumored to be the key choice for the role. The third name in the list was of Chilean actor Pedro Pascal who played Oberlyn Martell in Games of Thrones.

The 35 year old Guatemalan-born American star launched his acting career in the year 2002. But it was in 2013, when he, first, stole the limelight with his performance in Coen Brothers' Inside Llewyn Davis. Oscar plays one of the vital roles in Disney venture Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens which is yet to be released on theaters. It will be really fascinating to see this ace actor play the powerful antagonist mutant on 27 May, 2016, when X-Men: Apocalypse releases.
