After Fox and Ryan Reynolds managed to pull off one of the most amazing marketing campaigns ever, Deadpool made history. Even if the plot was paper thin, it was all forgotten once the Merc with a Mouth proved that there is another way to make comic book movies.
Of course, director Tim Miller had a huge part in the success of the movie. So the news that he has dropped out of the planned Deadpool sequel over creative differences (with Ryan Reynolds) made the fans wonder if a suitable director would be found. We’ve heard nothing about this until now - but that doesn't mean that the same fans don't have their own preferences.
The fans have already found the director to help Deadpool 2 cross the billion dollar mark at the box office. And that director is none other than Quentin Tarantino. The director has proved himself as an action movie aficionado with the Kill Bill movies. Furthermore, his skill as a writer can be put to good use in polishing (or even writing from the very start) the script for the sequel.
A petition has appeared online, asking for Tarantino to direct Deadpool 2:
If there was ever a chance to see Tarantino do a project almost guaranteed to make a billion dollars, this is it. We got a great taste of what this could be like in Kill Bill, but imagine having a guy like Tarantino write dialogue for The Merc with the Mouth! It would be so glorious. Join me! (Change.org)
To be noted, Tarantino has said a couple of times that he was a comic book reader while in his twenties. So he doesn't have any problem with the many superhero films being released every year. However, he also said that he wished the comic book movie had exploded back then and not right now.
Even more, we guess everybody knows that during the ’90s, Tarantino flirted with the idea of directing a Luke Cage film. So what do you think?
