Supergirl
Female characters are sorely neglected in comic book movies and while there are a few on the go and on the way at the moment – Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Gamora, Wonder Woman etc – a few more still wouldn’t be unwelcome.
Supergirl first appeared on film back in 1984, when Helen Slater took on the role in a movie that was a spin-off to the iconic Christopher Reeve Superman movies – but, unfortunately, it just wasn’t very good.
The character should definitely be introduced to the DC Extended Universe at some point – and she has been hinted at through Easter eggs in 2013’s Man of Steel – to fight alongside her Kryptonian cousin and the likes of her gender counterpart Wonder Woman. If it happens, hopefully a modern depiction will improve upon the previous offering vastly.
