There was a time when Thor: Ragnarok was expected to be one of the darkest movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But that’s no longer the case since Marvel Studios hired director Taika Waititi, who is known for his humorous movies. His Team Thor Mockumentary has already demonstrated how funny the Norse God of Thunder can be (we recently saw a preview of its Part 2).
Tom Hiddleston has said that we shouldn't expect Thor: Ragnarok to be any different from those shorts. The British actor told Fandango's Erik Davis that Chris Hemsworth's character has never been as funny as he’ll be in the November 3, 2017 release:
I can confidently say right now this will be the funniest depiction of the character of Thor that you've ever seen. I personally have known for almost ten years that Chris Hemsworth is hilarious. I think this go-around will be his chance.
The 36-year-old actor praised the Thor: Ragnarok director, saying that he’s a "such a spirited, hilarious individual". He also revealed that it didn’t take long for Waititi and Hemsworth to become friends, and they "brought out the best" in each other.
During the interview, Tom Hiddleston teased Loki's role in the movie:
At the end of The Dark World, Loki is on the throne. At the beginning of Ragnarok, Thor has a few questions, and Loki is endearingly enigmatic about providing answers.
Hiddleston's God of Mischief has been absent for about four years, so we’re thrilled about his return. We expect him to once again make life difficult for his brother with his mischief!
