Rachel Talalay wants to direct a She-Hulk movie!

The success of Warner Bros.' Wonder Woman should be an eye-opener for Hollywood studios that don’t hesitate to spend big bucks on male-led superhero movies but back off when it comes to pouring cash into movies with a female leads. Marvel Studios is working on Captain Marvel, but if they’re interested in making additional female superhero movies, they should consider making one that features Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk.

She-Hulk ranks 88th in IGN's Top 100 Comic Book Heroes list, and 18th in their list of The Top 50 Avengers, so Marvel’s interest may be piqued by the fact that Tank Girl director Rachel Talalay revealed during a recent interview with Vice that she’d like to direct a She-Hulk movie:

I have such a strong vision of what She-Hulk should be. The difference between She-Hulk and Hulk is that she loved being She-Hulk. She was the Tank Girl of earlier days in terms of being able to say what she wanted, and when she became She-Hulk, it was like an opening of the door to freedom, to be the person that you wished you could be. That you’re stopped from being as a woman. And that’s the version of She-Hulk that I would love to embrace.

In addition to Tank Girl, Talalay has directed episodes of Arrowverse’s The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl, as well as multiple episodes of Doctor Who and the season opener of Sherlock Season 4. She's a seasoned campaigner, and it was briefly rumored that she was in contention for the Captain Marvel director's chair.

In December 2016, Rosario Dawson, who portrays Claire Temple in Netflix's Marvel Television shows, revealed that she "would be honored" to play She-Hulk. Maybe she and Talalay would make a good team.

Would you like to see Rachel Talalay and Rosario Dawson team up for a She-Hulk movie? Or do you have another director and/or lead actress in mind? Share via comments!
