A brand new Marvel series is now available on Disney+. Marvel Studios: Legends has debuted on the streaming service. The first two episodes will help to set up the events of WandaVision, which arrives next week.
The show was first announced in December. The docuseries will look at various characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. All of the episodes will somehow connect to one of the many live-action MCU shows in the works for Disney+. WandaVision, which will center on Scarlet Witch and Vision, is just the beginning.
Here is the synopsis for Marvel Studios: Legends.
“As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand, Marvel Studios: Legends celebrates and codifies what has come before. Revisit the epic heroes, villains and moments from across the MCU in preparation for the highly anticipated stories still to come. Each dynamic segment feeds directly into the upcoming series premiering on Disney+ — setting the stage for future events. Marvel Studios: Legends weaves together the many threads that constitute the unparalleled Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
The first two episodes center on Wanda Maximoff and Vision. It has not yet been revealed who the subjects of the other episodes will be. But it does give Disney+ subscribers even more Marvel content to enjoy. Peculiarly, the service has been relatively light on exclusive Marvel content in its first year. That is all going to change in the coming months.
These new live-action MCU shows will be heavily connected to the movies. That had previously not been the case. WandaVision will not only be the first scripted Marvel series for Disney+ but it will also officially kick off Phase 4 of the MCU. Other shows currently in the works includes The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight. The animated series What If? is also scheduled to debut this year. So MCU fans have quite a bit to look forward to aside from movies like Black Widow and Eternals.
Here is the synopsis for WandaVision.
“Marvel Studios’ captivating new series ‘WandaVision,’ which premieres in early 2021 on Disney+. Starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, ‘WandaVision’ marks the first series from Marvel Studios streaming exclusively on Disney+. The series is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision—two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.”
Marvel Studios: Legends is streaming now on Disney+.
