Hulk in Civil War – Says Mark Ruffalo

Fist bump

So what happened with the Hulk after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron? This is one of the biggest questions that remained unanswered. Until now, that is.

There were two possibilities. The first one, enjoyed by most of the fans, would have seen the Green Goliath heading into space, thus opening the opportunity of a Planet Hulk movie. The second possibility, with the higher chances of actually happening, was to have the Bruce Banner on Earth, into seclusion.

Well, apparently, the fans will have to wait for a long time until a solo movie centered on Bruce Banner and his angry alter-ego.

Until now, there were three major characters about which we knew nothing about their involvement in Civil War: Hulk, Thor and Nick Fury. And while Thor will certainly be involved in Ragnarok and nick Fury will lay low some more, what of the Hulk?

Here is what Mark Ruffalo said: "If Robert Downey, Jr. says I'm in "˜Captain America,' I'm in "˜Captain America' dammit. And I will wait for the day that my call sheet shows up at my doorstep or my script. At this point, I'm told that I'm in it by Robert, which I'll take as biblical, but I just haven't heard or seen from production yet." (via Screen Rant)

Did RDJ say that?

Apparently so. "I was talking to Robert Downey the other day, and he said, "˜Ruffalo! I heard you're coming out here,' and I said, "˜OK! I'll be there,’" said Ruffalo, with a chuckle." (via Screen Rant).

With a chuckle, heh?

This is… surprising?

One of the major reasons why Hulk was unwelcomed during the Civil War was the fact that he would have tipped the balance in the favor of the team he was in - after all, he is the strongest of them all. However, Avengers: Age of Ultron took care of that, showing that the Green Goliath can be defeated even by Iron Man.

So yeah, if Robert Downey Jr. says it, it will certainly happen so. But how about that chuckle, from the initial comment?

We're not sure. Can it actually be another post-credits scene such as the one in Iron Man 3? If so, we will say pass. Will Banner be the only one present throughout the movie, without him hulking out? Sure sounds good"¦ although, what is a Banner without a Hulk than some puny human?
