It’s been one day since Thor: Ragnarok tickets went on sale, and we’ve already seen reports about it being the most anticipated comic book movie of what remains of 2017. That says a lot about Taika Waititi's first Marvel Cinematic Universe film, especially since the first big-screen Justice League flick is also about to be released!
With less than two months to go until Thor: Ragnarok is released, new details about the movie are emerging online. The latest concerns Thor's trip to Grandmaster’s planet Sakaar. Want to know more? Check it out the spoilery detail below if you’d like to know more!
By accident, Hulk is transported to Sakaar through a wormhole situated near Earth. As it turns out, neither Hela nor Loki sent him away. According to production designer Dan Hennah, wormholes are pretty common in the MCU.
One rumor said that Doctor Strange would help Thor reach the Hulk, and another said that Hela would banish him to Sakaar after she destroyed Mjolnir. But executive producer Brad Winderbaum said that the method of transport to the far-off planet would be completely different.
Winderbaum said that the Bifrost Bridge is a teleportation wormhole device that, like all devices, malfunctions sometimes. Thor's intention may have been to travel elsewhere, but he winds up on Sakaar, which is a junk planet:
Basically, there are any number of ways that one can end up on Sakaar. And a lot of times, if someone is using a wormhole to travel from Point A to Point B in the cosmos, and there’s some sort of failure and that person goes off the route, he’ll be spat out on Sakaar. [And with the] Bifrost being essentially a teleportation wormhole mechanism, without going into great detail, something goes horribly wrong during an amazing sequence, and [Thor] gets spat out. And one of the first people he meets there is this bounty hunter. A nameless bounty hunter named SR-142, who is Valkyrie (Comic Book).
Thor: Ragnarok will be released on November 3, 2017.
