Zazie Beetz Role in Joker Movie Revealed

Zazie Beetz is best known for her role in the Atlanta series. But, most recently, she has also appeared as Domino in Deadpool 2, a role she will reprise in the planned X-Force movie.

Until now, it was also rumoured that the actress is in negotiations with Warner Bros to appear in the upcoming Joker movie. According to the rumours, she was supposed to play a potential love interest to Joaquin Phoenix's Arthur Fleck.

Well, it was just confirmed that Zazie Beetz has been indeed cast in the Joker film. The name of her character has been revealed by The Hashtag Show, with the actress set to portray Sophie Dumond. According to her character's description, Sophie Dumond is a single mother who is trying to make ends meet.

"Not beautiful, has a hardness to her, a single mother living on the Lower East Side, doing the best she can, trying to make ends meet; worn out by the grind of the city. She understands how the system is stacked against her and the people in her community, how unjust it all is for them. She's just trying to catch a break."

As previously reported, Arthur Fleck will feel attracted to this woman. However, nothing is said about his feelings being reciprocated. After all, this is an origin story of the Joker. And Fleck's descend into madness could also have something to do with him being rejected by a woman.

If so, Zazie Beetz's role could be of great importance in the film.

There are also theories on the web concerning her role. According to them, Zazie Beetz actually plays a different version of Harley Quinn (which won't be named so in the movie). And, according to these theories, Arthur Fleck will be joined in his madness by Sophie Dumond.
