Shazam! – Did the First Trailer Tease Black Adam?

The first Shazam! trailer was reveal at the San Diego Comic Con, just like many fans expected. And it was a blast, revealing that Zachary Levi is perfect for the role. Of course, as it always happens, there were also some who didn't enjoy this first clip.

But, overall, the reactions have been positive.

Shazam! (Warner Bros)

What is most important, is that Shazam! is in the Worlds of DC universe, but is much lighter than any of the other films (Wonder Woman included). And that is thanks to the theme of the flick - if you want to see Big with superheroes, than this is the film for you!

The first trailer has also revealed the big baddie of the film. Portrayed by Mark Strong (Sinestro of Green Lantern), Dr. Sivana is on a quest to steal Shazam!'s powers. And, as the trailer revealed, he is strong enough to block one of the superhero's hits.

Does this mean that he has achieved his mission? Not exactly. As director David F. Sandberg revealed, "Mark Strong loves being a bad guy. And it's not just him, really, it's "¦ something else "¦ that lent him his powers"¦" (EW)

So who or what lent him powers?

In the comics, Sivana can see magic with his blue eye (which also appears in the trailer). And he got his blue eye while trying to open Black Adam's tomb. Using his eye, he is able to understand what needs to be done and, in the end, he frees the supervillain.

So did the trailer tease Black Adam? Of course it did! Unfortunately, Dwayne The Rock Johnson has already said that he won't appear in this film. So if his character isn't the one to grant Sivana powers, then how did the villain manage to block Shazam!'s punch?

About a year ago, audition tapes for this film surfaced. And while they didn't explicitly name them, they did reveal the Seven Deadly Sins as the villains. What is interesting is that, in the new 52, Sivana, Black Adam, and the Seven Deadly Sins all appear in the same storyline.

So what do you think? Will we get a surprise cameo appearance of Black Adam next year? Furthermore, who gave Sivana the powers he manifested?

Shazam! will be released next year, on the 5th of April.
