We have known for a while that Jason Momoa would be donning a comics-inspired green and gold suit in Aquaman, thanks to some statues exhibited at San Diego Comic Con International earlier this year. Now, a new extended trailer for the movie has arrived, offering our first look at Momoa in the classic costume.
No doubt the shot of Arthur Curry in a green and gold suit is a major highlight of the new Aquaman trailer. But it's just one of the many. The trailer, which was launched at New York Comic Con, is more than twice as long as the first trailer, and perhaps, is also twice as majestic as that one. The 5-minute-and-17-second-long trailer, in Civil War comic book writer Mark Millar's words, makes modern Marvel look like 70s TV Marvel.
Aquaman trailer just made modern Marvel look like 70s TV Marvel, chums. The green gauntlet has been slapped down and DC back in the game. A 5 min trailer so damn audacious, @creepypuppet, you damn genius! https://t.co/fEv7v3kSJe

That may be an overstatement, but it's true that there's no shortage of exciting moments in the trailer. We get our first look at Dolph Lundgren as Xebel King Nereus, a full look at the Trench monsters, more shots of Yahya Abdul Mateen II's Black Manta in action, and some visually-epic underwater as well as rooftop-hopping action. It also shows off the badass side of Nicole Kidman's Queen Atlanna. Check out the trailer below!
And here's a new poster shared yesterday by director James Wan on Twitter to announce the arrival of the trailer today!
Aquaman reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime"”one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be"¦a king.
