Lobo: The Rock Wants Jeffrey Dean Morgan For The Role!

The Rock smiles on Jeffrey Dean Morgan's candidacy for the role of Lobo!

Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, may no longer be in contention for the role of Lobo, but he knows which actor would be a good fit for the role.

The Walking Dead stars Norman Reedus and Jeffrey Dean Morgan recently attended a Q&A session at the Walker Stalker Con and revealed what comic book characters they would love to portray on screen. While Reedus was interested in playing Marvel Comics characters like Ghost Rider and Silver Surfer, Morgan expressed his desire to bring to life a character from DC Comics – Lobo.

Fans around the globe have approved of the notion of Morgan playing the Czarnian bounty hunter on various social media networks. And now, Black Adam too has smiled on it. On Twitter, The Rock has endorsed his Rampage co-star's candidacy with an enthusiastic "Hell yes." Check out his tweet below!

An interesting fact that you might want to know or may have just forgotten is that The Rock was once in the running for the role. When Brad Peyton was attached to direct a standalone Lobo movie, the wrestler-turned-actor revealed on social media that he was in talks to play the titular character. However, he dropped out of the project the very next year to take on another DC Comics character - Black Adam.

It's unclear whether a Lobo movie would arrive in theaters anytime soon. Earlier this year, we came across reports suggesting that Warner Bros. was eyeing Michael Bay to take the helm of the project. But since then, we haven't heard anything about it.

If Jeffrey Dean Morgan ends up landing the role, it won't be his first in the world of DC Comics. He has already portrayed two DC characters in two different Zack Snyder flicks – Edward Blake, aka The Comedian in Watchmen and Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He was set to return as Thomas when Warner Bros. wanted The Flash solo movie to adapt the iconic Flashpoint storyline. But apparently, that is no longer the direction that the project is heading in.
