As usual, DC and Warner Bros are expanding their animated universe with another flick - this time it is Justice League vs. Teen Titans, which is set to be released sometime in the spring of 2016. All is well, we can say, though the premise of the flick doesn't really bring anything new on the table.
Thus far, we have seen quite a few vs. animations and none of them has been better than what Marvel did with Hulk, Wolverine, and Thor. The latest offering from DC, with a vs. in the tile, was Batman vs. Robin - which was good, but not better than some other DC animations.
DC and Warner Bros have just released Batman: Bad Blood online (the DVD and Blu-ray come on the 2nd of February). With it was also released a special preview of Justice League vs. Teen Titans, which can be seen below:
We cannot say that we have high expectations Justice League vs. Teen Titans, especially because the ensemble animations following the Flashpoint Paradox didn't surprise us with anything at all (for example, Throne of Atlantis falls well behind pieces such as The New Frontier and Doom). And this one also doesn't bring anything new on the table.
The synopsis is as it follows: "Robin is sent to work with the Titans after his volatility botches a Justice League mission. The young team must really step up to face Trigon after he possesses the League and threatens to conquer the world." So nothing new. Even more, the new Robin also seems to be the main character. And Damien Wayne is simply obnoxious.
A teaser trailer was also released and it can be seen below:
Justice League vs. Teen Titans stars Sean Maher as Dick Grayson/Nightwing, Stuart Allan as Damian Wayne/Robin, Jon Bernthal as Trigon, Taissa Farmiga as Raven, Jake T. Austin as Blue Beetle, Brandon Soo Hoo as Beast Boy, Kari Wahlgren as Starfire, Shemar Moore as Victor Stone/Cyborg, Jerry O’Connell as Clark Kent/Superman, Jason O’Mara as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Rosario Dawson as Diana of Themyscira/Wonder Woman, and Christopher Gorham as Barry Allen/The Flash.
