We knew that Justice League would deal with a second attempted invasion of Earth by Darkseid and his Parademons. We also knew that the first invasion happened a long time ago, and that the Atlanteans, Amazons, and Men defeated the Apokolips forces. To date, the Justice League trailers have shown that the movie will at least tease the epic battle.

However, given that the second trailer just revealed that the opposing forces were superior in both numbers and technology, how did the heroes manage to defeat Darkseid's Parademons? Well, the trailer might have also revealed some of Earth’s allies.

The quick shots of the Amazons battling the invaders feature some airborne characters. Based on how their wings look, they’re certainly not Parademons; Darkseid's minions’ wings appear to be chitinous, but these creatures’ wings are feathered.

Of course, maybe the Greek Gods helped the Earthlings…But we have yet another rumor at this point: What if an alien species intervened to steer events in such a way that victory eluded Darkseid? What if those aliens were the Thanagarians?

Justice League may not feature any Green Lanterns, but other comic book superheroes could pop up - maybe the most well-known Thanagarians, Hawkman and Hawkgirl?

This could be a stretch, especially when we have the possibility of intervention by Greek Gods. However, it wouldn't be the first time that Zack Snyder has surprised us. And, even without a DCEU appearance by Hawkman and/or Hawkgirl, who says that a nod toward their species isn’t feasible?
