In this August's Suicide Squad, Margot Robbie will portray the first live-action cinematic adaptation of Harley Quinn while Will Smith will play that of Deadshot. The two are going to share a good amount of screen time together in the movie. But it won't be the first time we get to watch the chemistry between them on big screen. It was just last February when we saw Robbie and Smith share screen for the dark-comedy thriller Focus.
In a recent interview with Cineplex, Margot Robbie stated that she enjoyed working with Will Smith so much that she was "˜overjoyed' when she heard that they would be working together again. And she made an interesting confession in the interview. The Harley Quinn cast admitted that she tried to convince the once "˜most powerful actor in Hollywood' to take on the role when he was in negotiations! Here's what Robbie said:
"I actually texted him when I heard he was in negotiations to be in Suicide Squad and kept peer-pressuring him, "˜You'd better be taking this movie!'"
But the actress doesn't think Will Smith was influenced by her lobbying. She added:
"He obviously signed on for his own reasons, but I was so incredibly happy that we got to do Round Two. He's awesome on set and awesome off set."
And the Harley Quinn cast concluded praising Will Smith by saying that he is a "˜really, really good person'.
Even though the critics slammed Focus for its shallow script, they did praise the chemistry between the two. So, we would expect the two to exhibit something outstanding in Suicide Squad.
Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad - Creepy, Violent, Crazy!
In the interview, the Aussie actress also talked about her character in the movie, Harley Quinn.
"Harley is creepy, violent, crazy "” all of the things that I aspire to be! No. It's the fun of living vicariously through someone who is doing things that I would never do in real life."
Well, don't forget that Harley Quinn is ranks third among the most anticipated debuting comic book characters of 2016, according to a recent poll conducted on the moviegoers. She stands ahead of superheroes like Aquaman, Doctor Strange and Black Panther in the list. And we all love this creepy, violent and crazy character so much, don't we?
