Since Geoff Johns was named co-runner of the DC Extended Universe and co-chairman of DC Films, a number of new projects – some of which nobody saw coming – have been announced. Among others, movies for Nightwing, Batgirl, and even Black Adam have been mentioned. We don't know when – or if – any of the movies will actually happen, but Warner Bros. is apparently willing to try anything to set their expansive cinematic universe on the right track.
Pitched by none other than Gareth Evans (The Raid), Deathstroke is among the movies the studio has in the works. Read on to learn more, but watch for spoilers!
Ben Affleck revealed that Deathstroke was in the works while he was still set to write and direct the Batman reboot. It was then confirmed that Joe Manganiello would play Deathstroke, but we’ve heard nothing since. It appears that even Manganiello has been left out of the loop.
The character did make his movie debut in Justice League. He appeared in a credits scene, but he did appear, and apparently the fans agree that Manganiello is perfect for the role.
The actor recently shared the first official image of Deathstroke on Twitter:

Justice League may not be a perfect comic book movie; it has its flaws, one of which is the CGI. However, it excels at other things, including its great action scenes, good laughs, and top-notch characters. Deathstroke appears very briefly, but he’s definitely one of those top-notch characters.
We don't know whether the League teased in the credits scene will actually appear on the big screen. We also aren’t sure if or when we'll see that Deathstroke solo flick, but we’ll be glad to see Manganiello portray the character in the future, even if it’s only in the briefest of cameos.
