A couple of days ago, the world got word of the latest developments of the Suicide Squad. Of course, nothing official, quite iffy, I might add, but enough to make us wonder. A first time reddit user, claiming he was part of a focus test for Warner Bros., revealed certain details that gave rise to a host of questions and speculations.
His account is packed with details, as if to support its truthfulness. "I spent a good hour over at Warner Brothers with a few people; and they did a focus test group regarding the upcoming film: Suicide Squad", says oldcomicbookfan (the user's name).
And he goes on: "First thing they did was quiz us on our knowledge on the Suicide Squad; there were a lot of questions about our knowledge on the new 52 Suicide Squad ["¦]. The director of the movie joined us ["¦]. The director asked what we enjoyed more in an action movie, a serious action movie like The Raid or a more comedic approach like in the Jump Street movies. ["¦]. Near the end, we were broken into groups of three (there were 9 of us total) and given a one page summary of the plot, we were asked to describe what we liked and didn’t like."
Harley Quinn is the protagonist and Deathstroke is in Suicide Squad
Despite the fact he doesn't know it for sure, "from general conversations, it sounds like Harley Quinn may be the protagonist of the movie", says the user. This would qualify for serious spoilers, but the focus test group member himself is not sure. Now, we can only entertain the idea and admit it's plausible. But that's about all.
"I really liked Deathstrokes (sic) design, they really gave him this realistic but tech-geared look that is probably the best design I’ve ever seen of Deathstroke". And, not, the user doesn't speak about Deadshot as some thought at first.
So, there you go: if you give credit to this account, consider yourself a bit more informed than you were yesterday. But the general recommendation remains: entertain the idea, don't vouch for it. On that note, would you like to see Deathstroke in Suicide Squad? And where does that leave Deadshot? Leave your comments here and let us know what you think.
