The Worlds of DC is growing larger and larger - Warner Bros has hired Jared Stern to write and direct Super Pets. Stern has written before The LEGO Batman Movie as well as The LEGO Ninjago Movie. So, as far as funny animated films are concerned, he has what it takes!
In an exclusive announcement, Collider revealed that Stern will bring the DC Comics' superhero pets on the big screens. However, it is unclear at this moment what characters will actually appear in the film.
In this way, Stern could use the Legion of Super-Pets comics, which first appeared back in 1962. If so, the roster could include Krypto the super-dog, Streaky the super-cat, Beppo the super-monkey, and Comet the super-horse.
If you think that this kind of roster seems unusual for a big screen animated movie, rest assured. A couple of years ago, nobody believed that a live-action movie featuring a talking raccoon and a talking tree would be a hit with the critics and the audiences.
On the other hand, Stern could also use Cartoon Network Super-Pets shorts. In this case, the roster could be expanded.

And, of course, the writer/director could go with other characters, pet-superheroes he invents himself.
At the moment, nothing is known about this project other than the writer/director. However, this may be like a breath of fresh air for the comic book movie genre. Every year sees the release of at least 3 comic book movies, each of them raising the stakes higher and higher.
A big screen animated film about the pets of various DC Comics superheroes could be fun!
Just look at Teen Titans Go! To The Movies. This animation is certified fresh with 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, a B+ Cinema Score, and has already made $12 million at the box office (after 4 days, on a $10 million budget).
