Soon after The Defenders premiered on Netflix, we witnessed a significant boost in marketing activity for The Punisher. Marvel still hasn’t announced a release date for The Punisher, but new promotional materials continue to flow.
Most recently, new marketing materials included a teaser, a poster, and a new batch of photos. Like the previous teasers, the new one contains no actual footage from the 13-episode series. Rather, it revolves around the anti-hero's iconic skull logo.
This time, the skull is fashioned from scraps of classified military documents in a tease of the military conspiracy mentioned in the show's synopses (see the updated synopsis at the end of this article).
The newly released poster features the same skull logo that appears in the teaser. Beneath the logo and title card, we see 2017, but the first part of the apparent date is obscured. Check it out below!
The new photos from The Punisher include new shots of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, as well as most of the supporting characters, including Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page, Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s David Lieberman (aka Micro), Ben Barnes’ Billy Russo (aka Jigsaw), Jason R. Moore’s Curtis Hoyle, Amber Rose Revah’s Dinah Madani, Michael Nathanson’s Sam Stein, Jaime Ray Newman’s Sarah Lieberman (Micro’s wife), and Daniel Webber’s Lewis Walcott. Check out the photos below (via IGN and Collider)!
And here's the updated synopsis for The Punisher:
After exacting revenge on those responsible for the deaths of his wife and children, Frank Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York's criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.
