We already know that Aquaman’s love interest Mera (Amber Heard), will appear in Justice League before she returns in next year’s Aquaman movie. Now we have confirmation that Kiersey Clemons will appear in the November 17, 2017 release as Iris West, The Flash’s girlfriend.
In July 2016, Clemons landed the Iris West role for The Flash movie. She had worked with Flash director Rick Famuyiwa on the 2015 comedy-drama Dope, and when Famuyiwa pulled out of the project, many were concerned that the actress would follow. Then a report surfaced online that suggested that she had shot a cameo for Justice League and would stay on.
Clemons confirmed the rumor during a recent interview with Modeliste Magazine:
This November, I'm making a cameo in Justice League as Iris West, and it's the first time that you meet her before we get to see her in The Flash with Ezra Miller. It was my first time doing something so extravagant like that. We filmed in London, and that's one of my favorite places.
Iris West isn't the only supporting character from The Flash to show up in Justice League. Billy Crudup’s role as Barry Allen’s father, Dr. Henry Allen (Billy Crudup), has been confirmed by his appearance in the trailer.
Warner Bros. is still deliberating about a director for The Flash. As of May, Robert Zemeckis, Matthew Vaughn, and Sam Raimi were the top contenders for the job, but we’ve had no update since. It’s safe to say that whoever seals the deal will find Miller, Clemons, and Crudup on board.
