Another Game of Thrones Star Joins the Justice League Cast!

The cast roster for Zack Snyder’s Justice League already features a large number of recognizable actors. The latest addition, Michael McElhatton (Roose Bolton in HBO’s Game of Thrones), has confirmed that he'll appear in the November 17, 2017 release.

While speaking to Red Carpet News TV at the London premiere of his National Geographic series Genius, the Irish actor didn’t hesitate to confirm that he'd landed a role in Justice League. He shied away from divulging the identity of his character, but he revealed that his character would show up in the opening scene of the DC Extended Universe installment:

I found that the scene I did, which is quite a…well, at the moment, I can say it's a big kind of opening scene...was pretty dark in its tone, but in a good way. I quite like that. It wasn’t comic-booky, but I think you can thread a certain amount of humor through it, which maybe the previous one was lacking.

According to the 53-year-old actor, the major difference between Snyder’s upcoming flick and his previous one, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, is the use of humor:

It's so hard to know, I mean, they shoot so much stuff. But I think there's probably going to be a lot more humor in it. I think that would be the main difference, compared to the previous one.

Michael McElhatton won’t be the only Game of Thrones star to appear in Justice League. Jason Momoa, who once portrayed Khal Drogo in the HBO series, will star as Aquaman. Ciaran Hinds, who portrayed Mance Rayder (aka King Beyond the Wall), will star as the big baddie Steppenwolf. At one point, we thought that Kristopher Hivju, who portrayed Tormund Giantsbane, would also appear in the DCEU movie, but it was later confirmed that he won’t.
