While it's still unclear whether we’ll actually see The Defenders reunite on Netflix, rest assured that two members of the superhero team - Finn Jones' Iron Fist and Mike Colter's Luke Cage - will share some screen time during Luke Cage’s sophomore season.
Although critical reaction to the first season was lukewarm at best, Marvel and Netflix have already greenlighted a new season. The Punisher Season 1, Jessica Jones Season 2, Luke Cage Season 2, and Daredevil Season 3 will precede it. But we won't have to wait that long to see K'un-Lun’s former protector and Hell's Kitchen’s current protector, as Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that he’ll appear in the upcoming season of Luke Cage.
EW also managed to get hold of the first photo of Jones and Colter's characters from Season 2. In it, they’re staring at each other in what appears to be an unfriendly manner. But still, we don’t think that this moment will lead to another exchange of blows. Danny Rand’s new haircut is also notable. Check it out below!
Marvel and Netflix hasn’t provided any details about the extent of Iron Fist's involvement in Luke Cage Season 2, so we’re not sure how his appearance actually comes about. At the moment, it appears that the most reasonable explanation is his connection to Simone Missick's Misty Knight.
We already know that Danny is helping Misty obtain a bionic arm following her loss of a limb during the events of The Defenders. She is also expected to show up later in Iron Fist Season 2. We hope that Finn Jones' character isn't just hanging around to chat, which could become annoying. We want to see him in action, which would take us a step closer to a Heroes for Hire spin-off.
