Fox and Marvel’s X-Men TV Series Finds Its Blink!

Jamie Chung has joined X-Men television series as Blink!

Fan Bingbing played Blink in the 2014 flick X-Men: Days of Future Past, but we’re about to see a new version of the character in 20th Century Fox Television and Marvel Television’s upcoming X-Men television series. This time, Jamie Chung will take on the role.

Marvel has officially announced that Chung will have a regular role as the teleporting mutant in the as yet untitled project. For some unknown reason, they’re changing Blink’s real name from the comics’ Clarice Ferguson to Clarice Fong.

The Fox series’ version of Blink is described as follows:

[She’s] a sarcastic and lively tomboy. Clarice's naturally strong exuberance has taken a hit after a sudden and traumatic upheaval of her life. As she adjusts to the new people and places that are suddenly “home”, Clarice is slowly becoming herself again.

[The series will] focus on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.

Jamie Chung portrayed Valerie Vale in the ongoing season of Gotham and Miho in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. She also voiced GoGo Tomago in Big Hero 6, and she’ll reprise the role in the upcoming follow-up Disney XD series Big Hero 7. The 33-year-old actress has also appeared in movies that include The Hangover Parts II and III, Dragonball Evolution, Premium Rush, and Eden.

Chung is the second confirmed cast member for the X-Men series. Earlier this month, Switched at Birth and Satisfaction star Blair Redford signed on to play Sam, an original mutant created for the series. The character is described as "the strong-headed leader of the underground network".

Matt Nix will serve as the showrunner for the Fox/Marvel venture. Bryan Singer will direct its pilot episode.
