Deathstroke - Too Big for Television Shows

Deathstroke cannot be said to have been a fan-favorite of the Arrowverse. Nonetheless, he did make an impact in the second season of the show - and it was such an impact that even Stephen Amell expressed his interest in seeing him return. But will that happen?

Producer Marc Guggenheim touched on the subject just a bit when asked on Tumblr whether or not Deathstroke will return. The same question was asked quite a while ago, last year, and the producer answered that this character is not off the table. However, now he’s said something completely different (as we interpret it, of course). According to him, it isn't likely for the Batman villain to make a comeback, though Walter certainly has more chances of doing that.

Here's what he said: "The character of Slade Wilson is currently tied up in another DC project. Walter is more likely.

Now, obviously, the big question is: what kind of DC project might that be? And the answer can be found in the disappearance of another Batman villain from the show. In the same season when Deathstroke appeared on Arrow, Harley Quinn was also supposed to briefly cameo. However, that didn't happen, since the studio also had bigger plans for her in another DC project.

As it turned out, those plans saw the casting of Margot Robbie in the role, in the upcoming Suicide Squad. Could this also be the case for Deathstroke? Is Slade Wilson too big a character for the Arrowverse?

We still don't know what character Scott Eastwood will portray this year in Suicide Squad. But there are three rumors concerning his role. The first one, and the least plausible, is that he is one of Batman's Robins spying on Waller and the Suicide Squad. The second one, which might turn out to be true, is that he is just a no-name, a soldier working for Amanda Waller.

Lastly, Scott Eastwood is rumored to portray Deathstroke since, allegedly, someone saw him wearing a costume on set, with the tag Wilson written on it. We highly doubt that it is Wade, so he can only be Slade.

So what do you think? Will this powerful Batman baddie appear in Suicide Squad?

Or is DC keeping Deathstroke on ice, for future projects (Teen Titans maybe?)?
