Kevin Conroy explains how Batman: The Killing Joke expands the story!

Batman: The Killing Joke’s single night release is scheduled for July 25, 2016. The movie will launch digitally the very next day. The animated movie, directed by Sam Liu and Bruce Timm, is an adaptation of Alan Moore's 1988 one-shot graphic novel of the same name.

The 26th installment of the DC Universe Animated Original Movies series, the movie will follow the events of the original comic pretty faithfully. But, at the same time, there will definitely be some updates, according to Kevin Conroy, the actor who is voicing the Caped Crusader in The Killing Joke.

In a recent interview with DC All Access (via Comic Book), the 60-year-old actor states that they have "expanded some of the story a bit". He goes on to explain how The Killing Joke movie expands the story. According to Conroy:

There’s much more of Batgirl in this…so that plotline is more developed, and the struggle, the internal struggle that Batman has, that Bruce Wayne has, in wrestling with the demons in the Joker is much more explored. There are a couple of really wonderful scenes that I have with Mark that I’m really proud of.

This isn't, of course, the first time Kevin Conroy has voiced Batman with Mark Hamill voicing The Joker. The first time was around 24 years ago in Batman: The Animated Series.

Since then, they’ve paired up as the superhero and supervillain in a number of animated ventures, including The New Batman Adventures and Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.

Kevin Conroy expresses his feelings about the duo working together again for The Killing Joke:

What’s wonderful about it is getting back in the booth with Mark Hamill, because that Batman-Joker relationship, it’s almost like Joker defines Batman and Batman defines Joker, it’s the dark and the light, and sometimes it feels like either of us wouldn’t exist completely without the other, and Mark and I work so well together.

We love Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill as Batman and The Joker, don't we? You can check out the interview in the video below!
