PSA: Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. Season 1 is Now Streaming on Hulu

Marvel fans who also are subscribed to Hulu have something new to binge-watch. Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K., a new animated series based on the iconic villain, is now streaming in its entirety. All ten episodes of the show’s first season are now available for subscribers to enjoy.

M.O.D.O.K. is animated in the style of Robot Chicken. While M.O.D.O.K. is a very serious and dangerous villain in the pages of Marvel Comics, the series is comedic and light in tone. Thus far, critics have responded kindly, as it currently holds a solid 86 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Here is the synopsis for Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K.

“The megalomaniacal supervillain M.O.D.O.K. has long pursued his dream of one day conquering the world. But after years of setbacks and failures fighting the Earth’s mightiest heroes, M.O.D.O.K. has run his evil organization A.I.M. into the ground. Ousted as A.I.M.’s leader, while also dealing with his crumbling marriage and family life, the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing is set to confront his greatest challenge yet!”

The cast is led by comedian Patton Oswalt as M.O.D.O.K. The ensemble also includes Melissa Fumero, Aimee Garcia, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ben Schwartz, Beck Bennett, Jon Daly and Sam Richardson. Oswalt additionally wrote the show alongside Jordan Blum. Oswalt and Blum also serve as producers. Brett Crawley, Robert Maitia, Grant Gish, Joe Quesada, Karim Zreik and Jeph Loeb are on board as executive producers.

This is one of four similar shows that were originally set to air on Hulu. Tigra & Dazzler and Howard the Duck were announced back in 2019. However, once Marvel Studios started taking more control over Marvel Television, they were given the ax. Chelsea Handler had been tapped to executive produce Tigra & Dazzler. Kevin Smith and Dave Willis were set to executive produce Howard the Duck

A crossover series, The Offenders, had also been in the works. But without those other two shows, it isn’t going to come to fruition. M.O.D.O.K. moved ahead because it was seemingly too far down the line to have the plug pulled. It remains to be seen what that means for its chances at getting a second season.

Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. is streaming now on Hulu.
