Gambit Director Found: Rupert Wyatt Locked In To Helm The Movie

Gambit

Gambit is set to arrive in theaters October 7, 2016. With no plot revealed and with just Channing Tatum cast - as Remy LeBeau - it seems the movie is a bit behind schedule.

Back in May we heard from Tatum: the script is submitted and Gambit will be an origin story. But that's about all.

Well, if you don't count the rumor that Marvel's Ragin' Cajun will appear in X-Men: Apocalypse, a speculation that only concerns the character and which will bring forward Tatum's version of Gambit a few months earlier (Apocalypse hits theaters May 27).

It seems, however, they're making progress. Slow progress, but progress all the same. The director has finally been found, as Entertainment Weekly reports.

Hit 2 to see why Rupert Wyatt could be a good fit!

Rupert Wyatt doesn't boast a huge portfolio, but his recent directorial feats must have drawn Fox's attention.

He's best known for 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes, but he's also chipped in to the making of the action- and thrill-packed The Escapist (2008), and he’s also helmed last year's The Gambler (starring Mark Wahlberg).

Gambit would be his first superhero movie to direct. But everyone has had a first time, right? And just as a lot of experience under the belt doesn't guarantee a box-office hit, a first time could be a success.

Is Rupert Wyatt a good choice for Gambit? What do you think, guys? Have your say below via comments! And don't forget: stay tuned, we'll bring you the hottest scoop on all things Gambit!
