Doctor Strange arrives on the 4th of November 2016. And it is a major event in the MCU, since it will usher a new kind of power into the established universe: the magical power. Everybody must know his story by now: a genius surgeon becomes a powerful sorcerer and must battle the evil that threatens the world.
A pretty basic plot for a Marvel film. However, as said, Doctor Strange will take things further.
How come? Well, check out the very inspiring fan made teaser trailer below!
Doctor Strange - fan made teaser trailer
David Johns is the one that made the pretty awesome teaser trailer below. According to him, the dialogue (which fits rather perfectly the persona of Doctor Strange) is taken from a Benedict Cumberbatch documentary-style film about Vincent Van Gogh, called Painted with Words.
Obviously, you've all recognized the music - David Johns' own interpretation of the awesome People are Strange by The Doors.
Who else is in the clip? Well, the unconfirmed Ancient One in the portrayal of Tilda Swinton. Obviously, he is a fan of the actress - just like we are. However, he could have chosen something else instead of that shot.
A breakdown
While David Johns does say what instruments he has used in order to create this Doctor Strange teaser trailer, he doesn't say from where he took the shots. And while we don't even pretend to know, we can assume that he used shots from The Fountain, Batman Begins, maybe even Watchmen. And is that last shot of Benedict from Star Trek Into Darkness? No it isn’t.
We don't know. However, this Doctor Strange teaser sure gets us excited. The principal photography for Doctor Strange began this May, with the shooting scheduled for this year's November.
So are you even more excited to see Doctor Strange now? We certainly are!
