A wild new rumor has arrived suggesting that a Marvel Cinematic Universe installment centered on Captain Britain and the Black Knight is in development.
Marvel Studios' decision to keep mum about the release slate of MCU beyond Avengers 4 has been a little annoying for us. Like Doctor Strange, we are seeing as many as 14,000,605 futures. However, unlike the Sorcerer Supreme and his fellow superheroes, we would stand victorious in most of these realities.
In one such reality, the studio makes a Captain Britain/Black Knight team-up movie. And the chances of something like that happening may not be slim after all. Ain't It Cool has been informed by a source that allegedly works at various movie studios in the UK that such a project is already in the works with Sherlock Holmes director Guy Ritchie attached to the helm. Here's what the source that they are referring to as Super Grip suggested:
Space at Pinewood has been booked for November & December 2018 to hold auditions for a Marvel project called CAPTAIN BRITAIN AND THE BLACK KNIGHT. The name of the director booked in for all these dates is GUY RITCHIE. Marvel seems to be moving fast with it to fill in the space left behind by Danny Boyle’s aborted Bond 25.
It must be noted that AICN admits not having vetted the information in any way - so, this could be a made-up story in its entirety. But perhaps, the only reason it seems to be somewhat believable is a remark made by Kevin Feige in an interview last year. When asked about the possibility of Captain Britain's arrival in the MCU, here's what the Marvel head-honcho said:
We have discussed it. There are a lot of actors that come in and ask about that part, so we'll have to see.
