Although we’re less then a year away from seeing Avengers 4 in theaters, Marvel President Kevin Feige recently remarked that a title reveal was a long way off. Okay, we know that Marvel’s very secretive about its projects. But this takes the cake!
Even so, the Avengers 4 title was recently leaked online. While the leak originated with someone involved in making the film, it wasn’t Marvel’s usual accidental leakers, Mark Ruffalo and/or Tom Holland.
Ruffalo made his most notable slip when he streamed the beginning of Thor: Ragnarok on the day it premiered. And Holland’s known for revealing important details about films before they’re even officially announced. Because of this tendency, someone who will pay close attention to what he might be up to always accompanies him during interviews.
Anyway, the Avengers 4 reveal came from cinematographer Trent Opaloch, whose credits include the last two Captain America movies and Infinity War.
Opaloch’s movies also include Avengers 4, which his website listed as Avengers: End Game! But once Omega Underground spotted this little detail, the cinematographer updated things, and replaced Avengers: End Game with Avengers 4!
If that really is the movie’s official title, it could be a reference to Doctor Strange’s remark to Tony Stark after the battle on Titan:
We're in the end game now!
Keep in mind that the Russos specifically said that End Game won’t be the title of the presumed final Avengers flick. But they also specifically said that the Infinity War deaths were permanent. And we all know that wasn’t true!
Do you think End Game could really be the official title? It seems fitting, especially when you considering that the first superhero team is about to exit the shared universe.
