Last year's Captain America: Civil War introduced Tom Holland as a brand new version of Peter Parker, and he’s signed on to play the character in at least five more movies, including next month's Spider-Man: Homecoming. While his run as the webslinger has just begun, he’s already set his sights on portraying two other iconic characters: James Bond and Batman.
With Spider-Man: Homecoming nearing its release, Holland has been doing a lot of interviews. In of the more recent – and unique – interviews, his Spider-Man Homecoming co-star Zendaya asked the questions for Interview Magazine. At one point, Holland revealed his desire to play both Agent 007 and the Caped Crusader:
ZENDAYA: I feel like I know the answer to this, but what role in an iconic movie do you wish that you could have played?
HOLLAND: James Bond. Or maybe I’ll do Batman.
ZENDAYA: It would be a little unfair if you got to play Spider-Man, James Bond, and Batman, Tom.
HOLLAND: It would be so unfair. But life isn’t fair, Zendaya.
The British actor is currently in his early twenties, so it's entirely possible that he might play James Bond and/or Batman sometime in the future. History shows that no single actor has ever been lucky enough to play any two of the three characters, but there's a first time for everything!
Holland also revealed some additional career goals that were just as intriguing, such as winning an Academy Award in the next 15 years and directing a movie in the next 20 years. When Zendaya remarked that he had "a very director-like mind", Holland responded:
I like directing because I like working with actors so much. I’d like to be a director who gives my actors complete freedom while collaborating with them to find performances.
