The Shredder isn't the only antagonist in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows; the Turtles will also encounter another iconic supervillain, Krang. Earlier this year, during WonderCon, producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller announced that the Dimension X inhabitant will be voiced in the movie by Saturday Night Live star Fred Armisen. They even promised that we would love his portrayal of the character.
Paramount Pictures never made an official announcement about the casting. But since the producers had said that, we took it as a confirmation.
However, according to the LA Times, it turns out that Fred didn't voice the character! The comedian had to depart from the second Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie due to "scheduling issues".
So, who gave Krang a voice in the upcoming June 3 release? The outlet confirms that Everyone Loves Raymond star Brad Garrett was brought in by the studio to serve as the voice of the supervillain.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 isn't Brad’s first voice acting experience. He's lent his voice to Bloat in Finding Nemo, Auguste Gusteau in Ratatouille, Hook-Hand Thug in Tangled, Easter Island Head in the Night at the Museum film series, and variety of other characters in various projects.
Since the 56-year-old actor has a naturally low vocal range, his take on Krang could be much more menacing than those of previous actors.
So, even though the replacement came at the last moment, we can rest assured that the little pink blob is in safe hands.
Apart from the recasting news, we have two new TV spots for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. If you are excited about the upcoming Dave Green flick, these commercials will most likely add to your anticipation! If not, why are you reading this?
