Batman v Superman: First Deleted Scene Released!

Who is this?

As we didn’t have enough already, Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. have just released a first deleted scene from Batman v Superman,  a scene that shows how Lex Luthor was captured. It is pretty obvious why it didn't make the final cut - after all, Lex is shown in the end in the prison cell, fearful of what is to come.

However, while the deleted Batman v Superman scene shows a SWAT team apprehending the villain in the Kryptonian scout ship, it also shows something else - the peril Lex Luthor was talking about. And it is"¦well, pretty ambiguous.

Check it out below!

So what was that thing?!? Obviously, it wasn't really there - though the name of the clip (Communion) could suggest any number of things. But we do guess that it has a connection with the whole Lex Luthor speech about devils coming from the sky (the big painting on the wall is also a dead giveaway).

And we can also guess that, actually, that thing isn't in there. Instead, when Lex enters the scout ship, he asks for knowledge. So, basically, the creature is in fact a rendition, the way in which the AI of the ship taught Lex about the darkest threats in the Universe.

But the biggest question of them all still remains. Who was that? If those were indeed mother boxes, then that must have been a parademon - though maybe of a higher rank (it is clearly different from the ones in the Batman v Superman Knightmare). And if it is so, this is yet another tease for Darkseid as the villain for the Justice League.

Could that be Steppenwolf? We surely hope not…

But there might also be another possibility, for the creature to be one of Brainiac's constructs. Returning to a certain scene from Batman v Superman, the scout ship has stored knowledge from thousands of worlds. Furthermore, Lex himself says that the beacon was heard - and what villain is keen on gathering the knowledge of the entire Universe?

Of course, this doesn't explain the cubes"¦
