Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Gets Netflix Release Date

One of the biggest superhero movies of the year is coming to Netflix very soon. The company has announced that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be available for subscribers to stream beginning on October 31. So this will serve as a little Halloween treat for Marvel fans. The film has already been available on VOD and Blu-ray for some time. Now though, it will be available for a much wider audience.

Across the Spider-Verse serves as the sequel to 2018’s hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. That movie also focused on Miles Morales and ended up winning the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, in addition to doing very well at the box office. Sony Pictures also has a third installment titled Beyond the Spider-Verse on the way. The film was originally expected to arrive in 2024 but that release window is now in doubt. In the meantime, fans can check out Miles’ latest adventure on Netflix at the click of a button.

Here is the synopsis for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

“After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters the Spider Society, a team of Spider-People charged with protecting the Multiverse’s very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must set out on his own to save those he loves most. Anyone can wear the mask – it’s how you wear it that makes you a hero.”

Across the Spider-Verse was a massive critical and commercial hit, much like its predecessor. The film, to date, has earned $690 million at the global box office. That’s a significant increase over the first movie, which topped out at $384 million worldwide. The only superhero movie to make more in 2023 was Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson directed the sequel, working for a script by Phil Lord, Chris Miller and David Callaham. The cast includes Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Jake Johnson, Jason Schwartzman, Issa Rae, Karan Soni, Daniel Kaluuya and Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man 2099. Avi Arad, Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Christina Steinberg serve as producers, with Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, Rodney Rothman, Aditya Sood and Brian Michael Bendis on board as executive producers.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse arrives on Netflix on October 31.
