Wonder Woman: CinemaCon Footage and Reactions

If we include last year's San Diego Comic Con teaser, we’ve already seen three trailers for this year's Wonder Woman. As expected, Warner Bros. has delivered, especially with the Origin Trailer, which revealed more about the mythology surrounding the character. However, the bad taste left by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad still persists for a number of fans, despite Patty Jenkins’ assertions that Wonder Woman is not a mess.

Attendees at this year's CinemaCon were treated to some new footage of Diana and Steve Trevor’s departure from Themyscira. As they go, Wonder Woman vows to find Ares (who is behind the First World War), and the pair have a humorous conversation about marriage and sex.

Another scene features General Ludendorff and Dr. Maru as they plan to help the Germans win the war by unleashing toxic gas. It ends with Ludendorff injecting himself with a mysterious serum.

In the last scene, Diana and Steve arrive in London, and we learn how little Diana knows about the Men's world. Also in this scene, Wonder Woman uses her bracelets and the lasso of truth to save Steve from muggers.

Reactions to the footage were positive. Some noted that Zack Snyder's style was obvious in the action sequences, which was a good thing.

With just a couple of months before its release, it appears that Wonder Woman will be a new start for the entire DC Extended Universe. Combine that with the positive reaction to the Justice League trailer, and the future looks bright indeed.
