The first standalone Hollywood movie of Wonder Woman finally kicked off its filming earlier this month. That, along with the cast roster, has been announced officially. We first came to know about the start of filming from the French actor Saïd Taghmaoui. He uploaded a couple of photos from the set of June 23, 2017 release before removing them! One of those photos offered our first look at Chris Pine as Steve Trevor.
Thanks to Daily Mail, there's a bunch more now! And this time we don't have Taghmaoui alongside Chris Pine but Diana Prince herself - Gal Gadot! Gadot and Pine were spotted filming scenes for the DC Extended Universe flick on the bank of the ever-so-famous Thames in Southend, Essex. Apart from the two, Exodus: Gods and Kings star Ewen Bremner was also spotted on the spot. And there were around 150 extras too!
These Set Photos Confirm World War I Setting!
The previous photo of Chris Pine from the Wonder Woman set did indicate that the movie isn't dealing with just modern times. The way he and Taghmaoui seemed to suggest that they belonged to some old times. And the new set photos make it clear as crystal that there's at least some portion of Wonder Woman set in the World War I era.
Gadot, Pine and everyone else were dressed in outfits of that era. While Gadot's costume resembles with that of a CIVILIAN LADY of the World War I era, Pine is dressed in the costume of a USAF PILOT.
These set photos pretty much confirm a Wonder Woman rumor that suggested the movie is set in two different time periods. While one of the rumored time periods is the World War I era, the other is present day period.
Here's some of the Wonder Woman Set Photos!
If Captain America has had issues with modern day LANGUAGE for his World War II background, I wonder how Wonder Woman deals with it! She's way too older!
