Ever since he announced he was cast as Aquaman in the upcoming Batman V Superman, Jason Momoa has been, one way or another, in the limelight.
Last time we heard of Jason Momoa, he gave vent to his surprise to see Snyder's early release of the Unite The Seven poster.
And while his enthusiasm to play and to deliver a badass King of the Seas was duly noted, Jason Momoa now has found a new way to grab the public's attention. And now he's done it big!!!
Jason Momoa throws down the gauntlet
When asked by a fan to "write down a reason why all these DC haters out there should join our DC universe", this is how the Aquaman in the making answered:
"Fuck Marvel".
Sure, diplomacy might not be Jason Momoa's strong suit. He doesn't seem like a guy who needs that anyway.
But while his words - written, for that matter, on the Unite The Seven poster - could just be taken as a joke, they do seem to pour some gasoline on the timeless conflict between DC and Marvel.
Is that a good thing? Is that a bad thing? I mean, to have a DC-affiliated actor speak ill of competition?
I don't see peace between Marvel and DC any time soon. And, after all, why shouldn't Jason Momoa have the right to voice his preferences like the average fanboy?
One could argue he's not exactly the typical moviegoer, but even so, should Jason Momoa be on his best behavior and mind his words when it comes to choosing sides?
Well, if it's spontaneous and brash, that does sound a lot like Momoa. So, to judge the Hawaii born actor for being himself, that doesn't sound right either.
What's your take on this matter? Do you think Jason Momoa might have lost a few fans with this choice of words? Do let us know!
