Whether the entire Guardians of the Galaxy team shows up in Avengers: Infinity War remains to be seen, but you can rest assured that Zoe Saldana's Gamora will indeed appear.
Saldana, herself, confirmed her character's appearance in the Russo Brothers flick while speaking with MTV News' Josh Horowitz on the red carpet at the Golden Globes. However, the 38-year-old actress claimed that she has yet to get her hands on the script penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely:
I don't know when they're gonna let me read it. I mean, I'm not looking forward to the five hours of green make-up, but every time I finally arrive on set I feel so happy and lucky to be there.
Saldana may not have read the script for next year's Marvel superhero extravaganza, but she has definitely watched some footage from this year's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. During the interview, she revealed that director James Gunn was "nice enough" to show her some clips when she went to do some ADR work for the May 5, 2017 release. She added, "It looks great."
With Avengers: Infinity War scheduled to kick off filming in a few weeks, it’s a bit surprising to hear that Saldana still hasn't had the opportunity to read the script. But it also makes sense, considering the fact that Thor star Chris Hemsworth hasn't read it, either.
At least, that's what he said in a separate interview with the same correspondent at the same event. Either they really haven't seen it, or they were both employing the same strategy to avoid spilling the beans.
Gamora is the second Guardians of the Galaxy character to be confirmed for Avengers: Infinity War. The Russo Brothers announced the appearance of Chris Pratt's Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, back in April of last year. Perhaps it would now be safe to expect at least cameos from the remaining members of the team of extraterrestrial anti-heroes.
