We recently came across several promotional items for Marvel's The Punisher, including a teaser trailer that featured no actual footage from the show. But now we have the series’ first full-length trailer, and there's no shortage of footage there.
The new trailer runs for over two minutes, and it's filled with brutal action sequences that leave no doubt about what we can expect from The Punisher. None of the Marvel/Netflix ventures have really shied away from depicting violence, but their latest offering really seems to be taking it to a whole new level.
While the trailer opens with flashbacks from Frank Castle's happier days with his wife and daughter, it doesn't take long for those dreamy memories to transform into hellish nightmares. At one point during the trailer, Castle (Jon Bernthal) makes the following statement:
They killed my family to get to me as part of a covert CIA operation. The man in charge wants me dead. Homeland. The FBI. Everybody's part of this.
The Punisher may have a lot enemies, but he also has at least one ally. Or that's what Ebon Moss-Bachrach's David Lieberman, aka Micro, wants him to believe. We see him trying to convince Castle that they need to work together, but the anti-hero won’t agree until one requirement is met:
One condition. I’m going to kill them all.
Other supporting characters include Rawlins (Paul Schulze), Billy Russo (Ben Barnes), Dinah Madani (Amber Rose Revah), Sam Stein (Michael Nathanson), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), and Brett Mahoney (Royce Johnson).
