After becoming a fan-favorite in the second season of Netflix's Daredevil, The Punisher received his own solo series. This happened even though, prior to the release of Daredevil, the powers that be said that there are no plans to release more than two Marvel shows per year on Netflix (2017 will bring Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher).
So it’s understandable that the fans are eager to know more about the show.
Today Marvel announced five new cast members, together with descriptions of the roles they'll play - none of them is the big bad villain, though. So check it out!
Daniel Webber (11.22.63, Home and Away) will take on the role of Lewis Walcott. The character is described as a young veteran who has had a difficult time re-assimilating into civilian society.
Curtis Hoyle will be portrayed by Jason R. Moore (A Lonely Place for Dying). According to his description, this character is a friend of Frank Castle's and one of the few people who knows he is alive (to be noted, he is a character from the comics).
Paul Schulze (Nurse Jackie) will bring Rawlins to life. The character is a high-ranking member of the CIA whose operations in Afghanistan intersect with Frank Castle. It’s safe to say that this one-name character will most likely be a villainous one, just like in the comics.
Jaime Ray Newman (Bates Motel) will portray Sarah Lieberman, Micro's wife whose marriage has made her life far more complicated.
Lastly, Michael Nathanson (The Knick) will portray Sam Stein. The official character description says that he is a Homeland agent who is challenged by his partnership with Dinah (Dinah is portrayed by Amber Rose Revah).
