Without a doubt, the MVP of Daredevil's Season 2 was the Punisher. Even from the trailers (one of them being completely Frank Castle-centered), the fans were supposed to realize that this season will serve as his origin story. And, despite being a bit unnecessarily convoluted, it worked just fine.
But the thing is that we don't really believe that the Punisher actually caught those responsible for his family's death. We believe that there are hidden forces at work, with someone else manipulating the man he believed was behind his tragedy. And that is why his story needs to continue - otherwise, it would feel incomplete.
Obviously, given how the second season of Daredevil ended, he will most likely appear further down the road in any of the Netflix series. But could he get his own solo adventure anytime soon?

According to Jeph Loeb, Marvel Television's Executive Vice President (that's a mouthful), this won't happen. According to Netflix CCO Ted Sarandos, any character who appears in the Netflix shows is game for a spin-off. Who should we trust?
Well, in a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel while promoting Daredevil, Jon Bernthal might have spilled the beans concerning the future of the Punisher. When asked whether the character will appear on Netflix again, the actor fell for it and said that he wasn't allowed to say - as it is with any Marvel production. But then came the trap and the actor fell for it.

Evidently, while this confirms that the Punisher will appear on Netflix again, this doesn't necessarily mean that it will be in his own series. However, given the open ending of Daredevil Season 2, and given what we believe about Castle's quest to find those responsible for his tragedy, chances are good that he will have his own solo series.
