Two seasons of Marvel's Daredevil and the first season of Marvel's Jessica Jones have been aired, and the next Marvel-Netflix series on the list is Marvel's Luke Cage. Mike Colter, who has already been introduced to us as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Power Man, will arrive with all the episodes of the character's standalone series on September 30, 2016.
Jessica Jones Season 1 teased Luke Cage's origin but didn't provide a lot of details on it. And as the character's own series is arriving afterwards, we were unsure if we'll get to see his backstory in it. But during his recent visit to Wizard World St. Louis (via Comic Book), Mike Colter confirms that we will definitely get to see Luke Cage's origin in his own series. Here's what he says:
I think we show it in a really cool way. He wasn’t trying to be a super hero. The series is about him growing into that.
A lot of “Sweet Christmas” & “badass stuff" in Luke Cage Season 1!
Those who are familiar with the comics must know that "Sweet Christmas" is a catchphrase used very often by Luke Cage in the pages of comic books. We've also witnessed Colter's version of the character using it twice in Jessica Jones Season 1. But we must be ready to hear that numerous times when he arrives with his standalone series! While speaking to the crowd, Mike Colter says:
Yeah, I’m going to say Sweet Christmas a lot.
The 39-year-old actor also teases a lot of badass stuff for Luke Cage Season 1. He adds:
He’s going to do a lot of badass stuff! Prepare for badassery!
