If you haven't seen the first Jessica Jones trailer, then you don't know what you've missed! The show promises to be Daredevil times 10 from just a couple of minutes of footage - if we pair that with the first reactions to the pilot, we cannot even express how excited we are for this new Netflix/Marvel collaboration.
What we can say is that Daredevil will seem light-weight when compared to this new show. According to the first synopsis for the entire show, Jessica Jones will present the titular character after she gave up on being a superheroine. According to showrunner Melissa Rosenberg, the character now has to deal with PTSD syndrome, while also being a private investigator and an alcoholic.
The first season of the show will also delve into the past of the titular character, revealing that she quit being a superheroine after an encounter with supervillain Zebediah Kilgrave, aka The Purple Man. Further reveals for Jessica Jones
As previously stated, Luke Cage will have a recurring role in the first season of Jessica Jones. Also, actor Mike Colter revealed that the solo series of Luke Cage will take place a couple of months after the events of Jessica Jones. And this means that the latter show should foreshadow or simply set up the events of Luke Cage.
Also, Jeryn Hogarth seems to play a pretty important role - the character is portrayed by Matrix star Carrie-Anne Moss. Apparently, she will also have a wife and she will also appear in the Luke Cage series - since she is, basically, the same with the attorney of Heroes for Hire Inc. from the comics.
Lastly, the last episode of Jessica Jones' first season will feature the appearance of another hero from the neighborhood. We all assume that this hero is Daredevil - since it is the last episode and it is titled Smile, this is the perfect time for the Man without Fear to tie the Netflix series together.
Nonetheless, it could also be someone else - and while we would like to see Daredevil, the tone of the Jessica Jones first season surely sets the stage for a first Punisher appearance, before the Daredevil one. This is just wishful thinking, though, but wouldn't it be cool?
