Guardians of the Galaxy Animated Series will premiere on Disney XD sometime this year. And while a year ago it was unclear whether they would make an animated series that pulls from Marlvel's comics, it seems that now things start to look up for this project.

We got word from Comic Book that now David Sobolov is on board with Guardians of the Galaxy Animated Series. The same source points out Will Friedle is also locked in for the series. Read below to see the characters they'll lend their voices to.

David Sobolov does voiceover for Drax

That's not a shock, not at all. David Sobolov has previously voiced Drax The Destroyer in a number of projects. His list of credentials includes Avengers Assemble, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H., Ultimate Spider-Man, the Disney: Infinity Marvel Super Heroes Video Game, the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes video game.

And that's not all, but enough to point out that with Sobolov as contender for Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy Animated Series, no one else would have stood a chance. See David Sobolov's invitation to watch the series:

Will Friedle voices Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy Animated Series

 

Will Friedle is no stranger to voicing comic book characters, in particular for Batman Beyond. Deadpool is also in his prize list (Ultimate Spider-Man). He will now voice Star-Lord, aka Peter Quill, leader of the Guardians team.

While, understandably, Sobolov was the obvious choice for Drax, what do you think of Will Friedle cast as Star-Lord?
