The Flash/Supergirl crossover is an issue that has been on our minds for quite a while now. Apparently, Nina Tassler, president of CBS, has also given a thought or two to this possibility. But it was only a week or so ago that she expressed her doubts in regard to an immediate tie-in.
When asked about The Flash/Supergirl crossover, or Arrow/Supergirl tie-in, Nina Tassler responded: "we're going to keep Supergirl to ourself right now". But, then again, she is probably right to act so diffident: Supergirl is work in progress, still short of a lead lady and with plenty other details to put in place, Kara Zor-El's costume included.
For a different perspective, see what Grant Gustin had to say.
Grant Gustin "is down" for the The Flash/Supergirl crossover
Grant Gustin seems to be a very chatty guy. On the occasion of an interview with IGN, he brought out a handful of details - mostly, teasing - about the development of the series. When asked about The Flash/Supergirl crossover, he gave vent to tons of enthusiasm. Here's what he said:
"Supergirl, yeah. It also is exhausting to think about. But, if they're like, "˜Hey we're doing Supergirl now and we want the Flash to be on a Supergirl episode,' I'm going to get excited about that and then after that worry about how we're going to make it work. But yeah, of course! I'm down. I'm down for any type of cool crossover as long as we can make it work".
Now, Grant Gustin's reply can hardly be taken for a confirmation. But enthusiasm works just as fine in matters such as the intensely speculated The Flash/Supergirl crossover. With that in mind, let's hope the new CBS TV series will rise to our expectations and that the bigwigs of the show will seriously consider the keenly awaited tie-in and come up with an answer.
