Netflix dropped the first teaser trailer for Marvel's Luke Cage during last month's San Diego Comic Con International and its first full-length trailer earlier this month. Now, with the series a little more than a month away from airing all of its episodes on the online streaming network, they have launched its first official clip!
The clip bears a less-than-a-minute-long scene featuring some exciting action and a couple of humorous dialogues. And there's a really cool soundtrack running in the background. That's what we were actually expecting, as Luke Cage showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker has already promised that music will play an integral role in setting up the show's unique tone.
The scene takes place in a boxing gym where Mike Colter's character encounters a bunch of baddies. After he tosses a few of them aside without a hitch, we see two of the goons pointing their guns at him. That's when Luke Cage says, "I guess you guys haven't heard about me, have you?"
They really haven't heard of him, and they prove it by shooting a few dozen bullets at him. But, as expected, the only damage these bullets do is to his wardrobe and to some of the stuff in the boxing gym.
However, the man with unbreakable skin still seems a bit irritated as he quips to the stunned goons, "I'm about sick of always having to buy new clothes." Well, Luke Cage isn't some silk-stocking guy like Tony Stark! So, the constant destruction of his clothes is definitely an expensive proposition for him! Check out the clip below!
