When Marvel's The Defenders premieres on Netflix in around four months, Charlie Cox's Daredevil, Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones, Mike Colter's Luke Cage, and Finn Jones' Iron Fist will team up to fight against The Hand. And The Chaste will stand with them as they confront the criminal organization.
It's been some time since Marvel confirmed that Scott Glenn would return as Stick in The Defenders, and now we've learned that he’ll bring along at least one member of The Chaste. Chilean actor Marko Zaror revealed in a recent interview (via MCU Exchange) that he will appear as Shaft in the upcoming Marvel/Netflix venture. The character is a member of the good ninja cell, and is highly trained in martial arts and skilled at archery.
We've already seen a couple of members of The Chaste in the Netflix portion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first season of Daredevil briefly featured Stone, played by Jasson Finney. Also, a flashback scene in the second season had Stick killing Star (Laurence Mason) as they argued about Elektra's future after she was revealed to be the Black Sky. It remains to be seen whether other members of The Chaste – such as Master Izo, Claw, Flame, and Wing – will also show up in The Defenders.
Zaror is best recognized for his roles in Undisputed III: Redemption and Machete Kills. He had a recurring role in the third season of the El Rey series From Dusk till Dawn, and also served as Dwayne The Rock Johnson’s stunt double in The Rundown.
