The Batman family is expanding at Amazon Prime Video. First announced in 2023 as Bat-Family, the streamer has revealed a first look at the new animated series Bat-Fam. The show is expected to debut on Prime Video later this year. Ahead of its launch, we have a first look at the action. Check it out for yourself below.

These first-look images offer our first glimpse at Damian Wayne as Little Batman. We also get a new look at this version of Batman himself, who we first met in the animated Christmas movie Merry Little Batman. That was part of a larger deal with Warner Bros. Animation, which also included the Batman: Caped Crusader animated series.
Here is the synopsis for Bat-Fam.
“Bat-Fam follows the events of the hit film, Merry Little Batman, focusing on Batman, Alfred, and young Damian Wayne – who has now taken on the mantle of Little Batman – alongside a few newcomers to Wayne Manor, as they navigate the fun and frustrations of life as a super family.”
The film stars Luke Wilson (Bruce Wayne/Batman), Yonas Kibreab (Damian Wayne/Little Batman), James Cromwell (Alfred Pennyworth), Haley Tju (Claire), London Hughes (Alicia Pennyworth), Michael Benyaer (Ras al Ghul) and Bobby Moynihan (Man-Bat).
This is a pretty rich time for fans of the Caped Crusader. After a long wait, The Batman Part II is finally set to begin filming early next year. Robert Pattinson will once again be suiting up as Batman for director Matt Reeves. There’s also The Brave and the Bold movie, which is part of the new DC Universe that began in earnest with James Gunn’s Superman over the summer.
That movie will also focus on Batman and Damian Wayne. However, Pattinson won’t be coming over to the new DCU. Rather, a new actor will be cast to play the DCU’s version of the hero. DC Studios co-head James Gunn hasn’t revealed who is in the running for the part just yet. He did say that many big actors are interested though. That shouldn’t come as a big surprise.
“Batman: The Animated Series helped pioneer in the evolution of superhero storytelling and defined the Dark Knight for a generation,” said Vernon Sanders, then-head of television at Amazon MGM Studios. “Batman: Caped Crusader will no doubt continue that tradition alongside Merry Little Batman and Bat-Family, we’re thrilled to partner with Warner Bros. Animation to offer a variety of takes on the Batman mythos to our global Prime Video customers.”
